  1. Thanks April for the octagon template. I finally remembered to look for the template on your website and it was an easy find. I love the pattern and I’m getting ready to make it.

You may not remember but I met you at Spring Market and it was so fun talking with you and seeing your great patterns. That’s when I bought the Russian Rubix Pattern.

    Have a great Holiday!

    1. Kim–
Of course I remember you! It was so much fun to meet someone who loved the Rubix quilt as much as I do. :) I would love to see your version when it’s finished. How’s it coming?
      xoxo

  2. Hello,

I bought Orchard House and have a couple of questions. First, what size am I supposed to subcut the strip sets GDG, EEE, and CFC? And which E am I supposed to press toward in the EEE strip set? Thank you for your time!

  3. On pattern Starway #165, page 3 under “MARK”, the pattern states “mark a diagonal line on the back of each 1 1/2″ square… Does it mean to draw a diagonal line on the 2” square?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. This Criss Cross pattern is not working out. I have been fighting it with every block I attempt. Something is not right.

  5. I inherited free spirit beechwood from a friend who passed away. It was complete quilt in a bag, fabric and backing. I am having great difficulty with this quilt. So to begin with I Made about 8 blocks with the white and when I joined the 4th and 5th strips in each block, I no longer had 1/2” gap between strips. Because I could not access your pattern revisions?, I decided to remedy it by sewing the first 4 strips, trimming 1/2” on the left and then sewing the next 4 strips and trimming 1/2” on the right. It did not give me 1/2”, but 1/4” which worked for me. Unfortunately you do not include detailed descriptions, on cutting as it refers to each unit. So when I got to lay out blocks on my design wall, the colour picture does not match the block layout in grayscale. Confusing! You do not say cut 5” x 8 1/2” white and polka dot strips to insert at sides to stagger block settings. HELP! Could you please walk me through the cutting and sewing process to assemble these blocks into a quilt top. Thank you

  6. On p. 7 of Midnight Medallion it says to cut (16) 2 1/2” squares of black tonal for the star blocks in Round 6. Is this correct? The black tonal rectangles for the flying geese are 2” x 3 1/2” and the white polka dot squares are 2” so shouldn’t the black tonal squares also be cut 2”?

  7. Hi April,
I have just received the Eat Me quilt kit from Fort Worth Fabrics; it was significantly backordered.

I can’t find the coloring pages for this template on your site; perhaps it’s not there because it’s older. Can you please email me that page? I am looking forward to making the cute quilt and using it as a table topper (for next year…;)

    Thanks in advance!

  8. just got in your fancy free pattern #175. in background cutting, 1 1/2″ strips, 4 need to be cut into 120 squares. Also the stars can be made with 2″ squares for the half squares, but 2 1/2″ works.

    1. Are there any other updates that I need to be aware of? I just got the pattern and there was an insert that there are updates and to check the update. I can’t find any updates and there are no updates on the web site. Thanks in advance for your help.

  9. I believe there are some errors in the nightlock pattern.
Will you be updating the pattern?

One of our girls made the quilt and found the errors. She did email you but I am not seeing any updates.

  10. errors in nightlock. i have seen the corrections that are already posted. for the light or dark border fabric there needs to be (8) (not 4) 2 1/2 WOF subcut into 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 to get (48)….so the yardage needed needs to be at 1 3/8.

  11. It’s good to see the updates on Nightlock. However your yardage on two of the fabrics is incorrect. The black star fabric should be 7/8 yd because 2/3 yard is 24” and the number of strips required equals 30 1/2 inches. Yardage for the “block border” fabric should be 1 3/8 yd because 1 1/4 yd will NOT yield the 8 strips required.

  12. Does the new Russian Rubrix template work with the original pattern which I have. Do you have a tutorial to show how to use the template? And is it possible to get a template that is the same size but just the octagon shape?

  13. Doing #173 . I have the update of 9ea, of the (9)1 1/8 changed to 1 3/8ths. Did the others in the background A change as well or do those stay the same? (3 1/8 ).

  14. Solstice #136 the cutting instructions for block B does not say which squares to cut into triangles. Looking at the construction of the block it only says to make 8 flying geese using 8 triangles of one color and 4 triangles of the other. From what I can tell these triangles are cut from the 4 1/4 inch and the 2 3/8 inch squares. If that is so you only need 2 – 4 1/4 and 4 – 2 3/8 inch squares. Is this correct?

  15. Hello! My name is Linda and am so very new to quilting, and received the Starway #165 pattern. Was wondering if could send me link for the color page. Also is there any pictures of videos going into more details on this pattern? I am a visual learner, if there are any tips or advice for this pattern I would greatly appreciate it. Making this quilt for my niece who has been diagnosed with leukemia, T cell. I’m new to quilting and not sure if reading pattern right. Thank you and have a blessed day.
